AAMGA Student Research Contest – $2000 Award

Good afternoon,

For those of you I had the pleasure of seeing at last week’s very successful Gamma Iota Sigma Conference, this is the official announcement of our student research contest which I spoke to several of you about. For those I didn’t see last week, I would like to invite your students to be a part of our fifth annual AAMGA Student Research Contest. With this solicitation, the AAMGA seeks research papers on property and casualty industry-related topics focused on the issues and dilemmas faced by organizations and individuals in the Wholesale or Excess and Surplus Lines industry. Specific details can be found in the attached flyer.

Two winning papers will be selected from the submissions and the authors will be awarded $2000 and invited to attend (with their professors), at our expense, the AAMGA Annual Meeting at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland, just outside of Washington, DC, May 17-20, 2015. Here, they will be recognized for their achievement, and this event, attended by over 1000 influential decision-makers, is an invaluable networking experience.

In addition, the winners’ research papers will be released to trade publications, including the Wholesale Insurance News (WIN) Magazine dedicated specifically to the Excess and Surplus Lines Industry.

I sincerely hope you will encourage your students to be a part of this opportunity. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thanks,
Jeff

Attention Actuary Students!

We at ActuaryExamTutor.com will be greatly appreciative if you communicate our FM/2 Live Online 2-Day Intensive Review Class to students at your school preparing for the October exam sitting. Over the two years that we have been providing these intensive review classes for the P/1 and FM/2 exams (we have been providing One-on-One private tutoring for the past 12 years), the classes have received tremendous positive feedback from students who have commented to us that taking these classes were a strong factor in helping them receive passing scores. The two day class, being held on 10/18 and 10/19, mainly focuses on helping students significantly increase their problem solving ability of a much wider range of FM/2 type problems.

Your communicating of the FM/2 class is tremendously important to us. We are very confident that the instructor-student live interactive intensive review class will be a very valuable resource for these students in their final preparation for the FM/2 exam.

There are 3 ways for students to learn more about the FM/2 Intensive Review Class and to Register:

Gamma Iota Sigma Speaker

Hello All,

Next Tuesday, October 14, at 5:00 in Cashion 205, Gamma has invited Mr. David Bell, Senior Account Executive at Aon Risk Solutions, to speak to us about his work. Accompanying him will be Danielle Ross and Carolina Low, both of whom are recent Baylor grads.

Mr. Bell also worked extensively with Baylor on insuring the McLane Stadium as it was being built this past year, an experience he is planning on addressing at our Tuesday meeting.

Please join us for this meeting, and invite others who would be interested! This is a fantastic opportunity not only to learn more about a great company, but also to get better acquainted with our new stadium.

I look forward to seeing you all there.

Thank you,

Elise Kappelmann
