Subject: HELP REQUESTED: AIG Underwriting Internship Program & GIS Partnership

Dear James,

By way of introduction, my name is Philip and I am a member of American International Group’s (AIG) University Relations team. Our team is responsible for all the summer intern and full-time entry level hiring globally and across all functions of AIG.

Given our ongoing partnership with Gamma Iota Sigma’s national organization, we recognize the strength of GIS and its students as a key talent pool for our industry, particularly given the Risk Management and Insurance focus. I am e-mailing you because I have just recently posted our 2014 Underwriting Summer Internship position on Baylor University’s campus recruiting portal and would like to ask if you would please encourage other GIS members and any other interested students to apply to this position. Please note that the application deadline for this position is Sunday, March 2nd, 2014.

Candidates who are selected to interview with us will not only have the opportunity to interview in our Dallas/Houston office, but will also be invited to attend our AIG Underwriting Internship Symposium in late February/early March. At this symposium, students will have the opportunity to learn about both AIG and our internship program, and have the chance to network with professionals.
